Current mood: proud!

My 2007 highlights!
I do this to my journal every year, just in case I haven't mentioned some crucial things that have happened in my life during the year, you all can know about it here.
January of 2007 was a month of stress, getting back in touch with a long time friend, and getting settled into my last semester of under grad. I took the GRE the first weekend back at school, and it took me six hours! After studying so long for it, I'm ashamed to say that my scores were not very high in either catagory. It's a standardized test, so go figure. I also got in touch with Joe, and it was so much fun to catch up. That month also, my two applied piano professor and my violin professors started discussing pieces for my senior recital which happens at a later month. So, after the GRE was done, and I got to see what Joe was up to, I started preparing for the biggest night of my life, plus taking classes. 20th century music history was going to prove to be my hardest class of the semester.
February, I actually got a valentines day present from Joe, it was the book, "the Hiding place." it is an awesome book. That month I also tackled more pressing matters as far as school was concerned, and spent most of my free time in the practice room preparations for the big night proved to be my beast of burden to carry!.
I also have to mention here, that I applied for graduate school in September of 2006, but by this time in the new year, I hadn't heard anything, but had made arrangements to go to Tallahassee to have my enterview.
March marked the start of two really big things happening. First, My mom and I flew down to Tallahassee where I had my enterview to get into graduate school. I was so nervous, and in alot of pain, because my very first wisdom tooth had came in and was giving me so much trouble it was so bad that I couldn't open my mouth wide enough to bite down on a hamburger. The enterview seemed to go well, I leased an apartment, and went back home only to have my wisdom tooth removed, later on that week which was nice!
On the 20th of March, I had so much good luck that day. First, I played on convocation two times and it was a success, I got into graduate school after two weeks of agonized waiting, and I went to a 20th century concert with a friend but went to red lobster first! yay!
the big day arrived which was later on that week, on the 23rd which was a Friday. The whole recital went off and was a huge success. I wore a navy blue dress, it was t-length, and was so beautiful. I wore sandals with a slight heel, my jewlry matched, and my hair was down. On the last piece, the audience said I sparkled, and everyone said I looked so beautiful. I received three bouquets of flowers, roses, my favorite flower in the world. Also during that month, I got nominated for the metro versity outstanding learner award of 2007 for under graduates in a collection of universities around town, but in March the results hadn't came in yet.
April, wow! As the music history class kept giving me trouble, my other classes seemed to be easy and I was glad of that. While we were still unsure if I was going to be leaving for Florida because of the availability of apartments where I signed the lease, we had to hold off for a bit to tell the university whether or not I was going in the summer or not. However, later on in the month, I got to sublease an apartment, so preparations for moving were beginning, because we had to be down there, June 1st.
Remember that award I was nominated for? Well I won it! I was Bellarmine university's under graduate winner! I was so excited. I got to go to a fancy dinner, and everything I represented the whole undergraduate population at my school and I couldn't have been more honored. Along with the metro versity award, I later found out, after being invited to several high academic achievement dinners, I was to get another award. The Wilson Stewart award. I loved it! I also got to meet the guy. So, yeah! a big month April was!
May, I graduated from Bellarmine, with a 3.85 GPA and graduated suma cumladi and Alice herself got a metal of honor that the university had specially made. We got up on the stage, and received a standing ovation as 2500 people cheered as alice and her cap and metal and I with my Music performance degree walked across the stage. I hugged my teachers who I still miss, but keep in contact with, and see one of them when i can, and then It was time to start another chapter of my life.
Later on that month, I got in touch with people I needed to get in touch with in florida and on May 30th, we set out for Tallahassee with my grandpa's cattle trailor and mom's explorer.
June proved to be a nice and busy month. I had started a new relationship which was alright, but as I'll report on later on didn't go absolutely anywhere. I got aclimated to Tallahassee and got used to apartment living.
July, proved to be the same thing, getting better at getting around town, finding my classes, finding out that the education building has none of their classrooms brailled, and loving the pool everyday! because the complex where I live has one.
August! I turned another year older! It was a lonely Birthday, because no one was with me, but I got to talk to my family, and got to clean the house, so that was fun. I watched alot of movies that month, but can't rightly remember what they are. I also started school the day after my Birthday and it had a rocky start.
September proved to be busy, juggling a relationship with little encouragement was dragging me down, and juggling classes, trying to do research, making labeling kits, helping someone who just had no clue of college now a days, and just life in general was just stressing me out.
October, Mom came! that was a great thing! I did my first client rehabilitation teacher interview which I did well at. My relationship ended for the first time, and also lost my best friend to a really bad seizure earlier in the month. I also took up horseback riding lessons at this point, which I continued through to the end of the semester. My friend status picked up alot with the people in the program, and it was a huge smiling time because I love them all and they are such good people.
November, I spent the first Thanksgiving away from my mom ever. The relationship got started up again, and my friend I had in high school came down to see me for the thanksgiving holiday which was awesome. That weekend I also learned why four blind people, three with guide dogs should not go to the mall together, not without someone sighted to help! not a good idea. I also struggled with mobility class, which I learned how to be a sighted guide, and had the best partner. I struggled with eye anatomy class too, it just seemed like the work I did was never good enough.
December, wow! the last month of the year! Classes ended, I passed all my courses, and I hung out with my friends until I left for home on the 16. Christmas this year was awesome, and my relationship ended yet for the last time, and all the brake ups were not my doing.
My regrets of 2007 Well I don't have any at all, accept I feel sad that I put so much time and so much of my heart into a relationship that absolutely didn't go anywhere, but hey I survived it and know better because of it.
I have had a lot of successes, changes, and heartache this year, but I believe that what didn't kill me, will make me stronger for the upcoming year.
I will start 2008 as a single, white, female, but hey! That's not bad at all!

Happy 2008 everyone, May it be filled with challenges to keep things interesting, sacrifices that cause you to appreciate what you have, and may it be filled with happy times to give you hope and strength to face each passing day.

You really do have a very interesting life don't you! 2006 was hectic and so has 2007 been too! Well done. Sounds like you've been through a lot but... Your through it, Your stronger and you've learned a lot about your self, and those around you who matter most.
I'm sure that your time in the apartment and away from your home has been very strange and unusual but again, with some determination, you've made plenty of friends there too so here's looking forward to celebrating 2008 with them!
